Outlook add-in

Adds an AI reply button to every email in Outlook (new Outlook for Windows/Mac, classic Outlook, Outlook on the web). The pane shows the category and a draft; reviewers can open it as a reply, ask for a new version, or say what's wrong — that feedback is stored and used for similar emails later.

1. Requirements

  • This server must be reachable over HTTPS from every PC that runs Outlook, with a certificate those PCs trust. OK: https://sparky.trihelix.nl
  • An API_TOKEN environment variable on the server. set

See the README (“Outlook add-in”) for a quick HTTPS setup with mkcert or Caddy.

2. Install

Manifest URL: https://sparky.trihelix.nl/outlook/manifest.xml · Download manifest

  1. Just you: open aka.ms/olksideload (Outlook on the web) → My add-ins → Custom add-ins → Add a custom add-in → Add from file… and pick the downloaded manifest. It appears in all your Outlook clients.
  2. Whole office: a Microsoft 365 admin uploads the manifest in the admin center → Settings → Integrated apps → Upload custom apps and assigns it to users.

3. Connect

Open any email, click AI reply, click ⚙ and paste the API token.

What reviewers can do in the pane

  • Reply with this / Reply all — opens an Outlook reply with the draft. Edits made in the pane first can be saved as an example for similar emails.
  • New version — a different draft, nothing is remembered.
  • Not right… — describe what's wrong; the AI rewrites the draft. Choose whether the lesson applies to similar emails, the whole category, all emails, or only this draft.
  • Category picker — fix a wrong category; the correction is used when classifying similar emails.

Everything learned shows up under Feedback, where you can edit or switch it off.
